1. Introduction
As established by the General Directorate of Migrations, the documentation required for the renewal of residence permits regulated by the international mobility section of Law 14/2013 is the following:
The initial permits and the renewals will be granted for two years or for the duration of the employment or professional relationship if it is not an indefinite contract and its duration is less.
Renewal may be requested 60 calendar days prior to the expiration of the permit. It may also be submitted within the subsequent 90 calendar days, without prejudice to the possibility that the corresponding sanctioning procedure may be initiated.
Requests for permits regulated by Law 14/2013 must be made electronically, through the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security:

Applications can be submitted by the interested party or through a representative.
2. Documentation that must be presented in all cases
General documentation, to present in all cases of renewal:
- The completed application form by checking the “Renewal” box. - Copy of the Foreigners Identity Card (if you have been in Spain for more than 6 months)
- Updated copy of the passport, complete, in force
- Proof of payment of the fee (It will be paid by the holder of the authorization and, in the case of minors, it will be done by the father, mother or legal representative of the minor in favor of the minor). The amount of the fee appears by indicating the corresponding box in section 7.
2. Investors
- Public or private health insurance arranged with an insurance company authorized to operate in Spain.
- Proof of sufficient financial resources for themselves and their family members during their period of residence in Spain.
- Investment Maintenance
- In the case of investors in a business project of general interest: Report from the General Directorate of Trade and Investment (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness) certifying that the business project continues to be of general interest.
- In the event that the interested party (whether owner or family member) has been outside of Spain for more than 6 months, background certificate
3. Entrepreneurs
Accreditation of compliance with the initial business plan, for which a report from the General Directorate of International Trade and Investment of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness must be submitted.
4. Skilled workers
For all the renewals of authorizations of highly qualified workers provided for in article 71, the maintenance of the labor or professional relationship with the company will be accredited through the employment contract or accreditation of the relationship
a. Management or highly qualified personnel provided for in article 71. a)
- Evidence that the average workforce for the three months prior to renewal is greater than 250
- Proof that the annual net turnover is greater, in Spain, than 50 million euros or prove a volume of own funds or net worth greater, in Spain, than 43 million euros in the last accounts
- Evidence that the average annual gross investment from abroad is not less than 1 million euros in the three years immediately prior to the time of presentation of the renewal.
- Companies with investor stock value or position must prove that they have a value of more than 3 million euros through a certificate from the Foreign Investment Registry of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness at the time of presentation of the renewal.
- In the case of SMEs, the company’s responsible statement that the economic activity it develops continues to be in a strategic sector.
b. Managerial or highly qualified personnel who are part of a business project considered to be of general interest (71.b).

5. Researchers
Employment contract or accreditation of the professional relationship
6. Intra-company transfer
- Letter from the company indicating that the posting is maintained.
- Certificate of Social Security coverage from the country of origin or statement from the company stating who is in charge of the contributions.
a. Spouse
- Responsible declaration of the holder that he maintains the family bond and coexistence.
- Copy of the full valid passport
b. Sons
- Responsible declaration of the holder that the family coexistence is maintained
- Copy of the full valid passport
- In case of being over 18 years of age with a disability, proof of maintenance of the disability
c. ancestors
- Responsible declaration of the holder that the family coexistence is maintained
