The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation has recently updated the list with the details of the various foreign embassies and consulates in Spain.

On the one hand, the list of consular missions has been updated (as of April 30, 2026) with information regarding addresses, opening hours, contact details, etc.

On the other hand, the list of the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain has also been updated (as of April 30, 2026).

It is important to have up-to-date information when carrying out various procedures of interest to foreigners in Spain.

Embassies and consulates protect the interests of their citizens, offering assistance in case of emergency, aid to sick or imprisoned individuals, and issuing documents such as passports or emergency travel permits in case of loss.

They differ in that, while embassies focus more on diplomatic and political relations between states, consulates are more oriented towards the direct and administrative care of citizens.
