In a brief notice, the official website<\/a> of the European Entry\/Exit System (EES) confirms that it will be operational by 2025.<\/p>\n

The notice does not give any additional information regarding the entry into operation of the EES, nor the approximate date when it will come into force in 2025.<\/p>\n

The launch of the EES has been postponed several times. The EU had aimed to introduce the system in the autumn of 2024. However, due to some problems that arose along the way, the EU said that the implementation would be delayed for an indeterminate period, taking the launch date of 10 November off the table.<\/p>\n

The European Entry\/Exit System is an automated computer system for registering third-country nationals travelling for a short stay, whenever they cross the external borders of any of the following European countries that use the system:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For the purposes of the EES, \u201cnon-EU national\u201d means a traveller who does not have the nationality of any European Union country or the nationality of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.<\/p>\n

\u201cShort-stay\u201d means up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This period is calculated as a single period for all European countries using the EES.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
